Implementation of SAP S/4HANA Finance at Auto-Teile-Unger

20th February 2019

A.T.U is Germany’s “No. 1 Master Workshop”. The recipe for success is based on a convincing combination: an automotive master workshop for all brands with an integrated specialist store. Thus, A.T.U offers a unique full-service package for drivers.

In the field of IT, A.T.U is planning to renew its application architecture based on a defined IT roadmap and by means of SAP’s integrative system suite – consenso is taking care of the holistic implementation.

The first step on the roadmap – the replacement of the existing ORACLE FI solution by the up-to-date SAP S/4HANA Finance – was implemented successfully in October 2018.

The task was to transfer the financial processes from the existing system into an independent finance and controlling system. The target system is based on the current HANA technology, the entire implementation was carried out as planned within a period of only 7 months.

The following processes have been mapped:

  • FI/CO organisation structures
  • SAP business partner
  • General ledger
  • Accounts receivable
  • Accounts payable
  • Asset accounting
  • Bank accounting
  • Closing & reporting
  • Consolidation (EC-CS)
  • Cost and profit centre accounting
  • Reporting

In a second step, the existing merchandise management processes must now be mapped in SAP S/4HANA Retail for Merchandise Management in order to develop step by step a highly integrative system landscape.

With the introduction of SAP S/4HANA Retail, the following processes have to be mapped:

  • Master data management
  • Supplier management
  • Disposition / procurement
  • Invoice verification
  • Stocktaking / inventory management
  • Warehouse logistics
  • Returns processing

A.T.U aims at replacing the current legacy system. Furthermore, and in the context of the SAP implementation, we assess many historically grown processes, examine the heterogenous system landscape and determine how a realisation close to the SAP standard and based on best practise approaches can be effected.

consenso’s implementation method has been selected for the implementation. The agile rapid prototyping approach enables early implementation of the requirements in the system. The solutions will be refined step by step in close cooperation with the business department, results will be taken over from prototype to prototype through to the pilot, thus reducing the implementation period significantly. The first prototype could already be completed in August 2018.
